Module 7 - Discussion on being a part of an online community.
I have only just begun to scratch the surface of learning about global learning communities. The Flat Classroom Project was very interesting, it would be great if a project like that could be started among our local school districts. The face of education is greatly changing because of technology and it links us all together like never before. Sometimes it is very overwhelming. In The World is Flat, Friedman believes we need to change almost everything about education as it is delivered today. I am not sure how to accomplish such large change but teachers are going to need a lot of professional development and time to learn about all of the resources such as global learning communities.
Module 7 - Discussion on Idea and Tool Exploration
I am currently investigating all of the capabilities of Diigo to use with my Professional Learning Community. I want a place where teachers can post useful websites, if they are blocked on our network, I want teachers to list why they need to be unblocked. I am also investigating using Google Docs to convert our old system of doing Graduation Projects.
I am also going to use my Google Docs survey to begin a conversation with my teachers about how technology needs to change and/or improve in our district.

My discussion post on being a part of an online community represents the goal of demonstrating sustained growth in technology knowledge and skills to stay abreast of contemporary and emerging technologies because I am learning what technologies apply to me in my job and to my teachers. I need to make myself continue to learn as much about being a part of a global community as possible.
My discussion post on idea and tool exploration represents the goal of demonstrating sustained growth in technology knowledge and skills to stay abreast of contemporary and emerging technologies because I am learning to use resources that I have not used in the past.
My innovative project represents the goal of demonstrate sustained growth in technology knowledge and skills to stay abreast of contemporary and emerging technologies because I tried a new project in Wordle and will use it for other sources.
